Feel for them
Recently, I am posted as a lecturer. I joined my college, just a month back. After my two weeks of joining, I slowly became familiar with the whole staff members and non teaching staff.One day I saw that sweeper was cleaning the floor with the mixture of sulphuric acid. He was doing, as cleaning is his duty. Of course he should do, no doubt. But the main pity lies where, he was not given any training for saftey concerns. He told me " Juo madam, mara haath, keva safed thai gaya che" (See Madam, how my hand has become white).His hands turned white due to working with sulphuric acid. I asked, are you not given any gloves to wear? To my surprise, he remained calm. But his calmness, narrated many things. I felt, no one is paying attention to such issues.
Another thing I felt was with flood. The sweepers who are staying in the nearby villages, are heavily damaged finacially as their houses ( JHONPDA) got damaged. I feel that I should start to contribute some amount for these type of people, so that, I can live with the satisfaction by helping them.
